ALICE WALTERS, PHD-- PARTNER AND TUTOR, WISE OWL PREP, SAN DIEGO

Alice is a lifelong higher education professional. She holds a BS in Physics and History from the University of Washington, and a PhD in History from UC Berkeley. For twelve years she served as faculty at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where she developed a passion for working with students. Her students have gone on to earn graduate and professional degrees at some of the most prestigious institutions in the world.

Over the course of her career, Alice he has worked as both faculty and administration at a number of universities. Her scholarship earned her a one-year fellowship at Harvard's Charles Warren Center for American History. She has twenty years' experience in designing and teaching undergraduate core curriculum (General Education), and has a deep understanding of the requirements and strengths of undergraduate programs in the core curriculum.

Alice believes strongly that all students can learn science and math, and is especially pleased to work with young women. Alice has also worked extensively with adult students and English Language Learners.
